Scooter Training Course

 

Learn how to safely control a scooter in a variety of conditions including: slow speeds, tight turns, collision avoidance and proper road speedsThis is a 20 hour course taught on automatic scooters. 

This course is only offered in Halifax at Safety Services Nova Scotia, 110 Chain Lake Dr, Unit 3F in Bayers Lake Busniess Park.

 

 

 

This training course is designed to take the brand new rider through all of the skills needed to feel comfortable and confident riding any size scooter on the street.  The skills you learn will be applicable to any size scooter you may choose to ride. 

 

 

 

This is an ideal course for those who would like to experience firsthand, the fun of riding a scooter. The course is suitable to those who have never ridden, as well as those who have some previous riding experience. 

 

 

 

We start with the basic skills, including balancing, proper braking, starting the engine, slow speed riding, and progress into the more difficult skills such as curves and collision avoidance. At the end of the course you will have the necessary skills to ride a scooter comfortably and safely. 

 

 

 

Upon successful completion, which includes a riding test, you will receive the certificate that your insurance agent may request. If you have a current NS drivers license we can also give you a “Learners Motorcycle License” that will allow you to ride any size scooter.

 

 

 

Cost: $450.

 

 

 

Students are required to supply the following:

- Motorcycle Helmet (DOT approved)
- Gloves preferably leather (FINGERLESS GLOVES WILL NOT BE ALLOWED) 
- Sturdy jacket and pants (leather or denim) 
- Boots that cover the ankle (preferably leather) (SNEAKERS & RUBBER BOOTS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED).
- Rain gear is required as the course goes rain or shine.  

An administration fee of $85 will be charged on cancellations. No refund will be issued 48 hours prior to the course date. Individuals who register and fail to attend or fail to complete the program will not be eligible for refund.
